If your mouse does not have a DPI button or its own software, you can still change it with pointer speed in Windows. It’s not the same as changing the actual DPI, but it can move the mouse faster or slower. The steps are listed below; choose the method that matches your mouse. It should only take a few minutes.

Change DPI Using the DPI Button:

There is a small button near the scroll wheel or on the bottom of your mouse. It may be labeled as “DPI” or “S”.Press the button to switch between different levels. Many LEDs and flashy lights are used by gaming mice to show which DPI is currently selected.

Different Ways to Change Mouse DPI:

Using Manufacturer Mouse Software:

Many mouse brands, such as Logitech, Razer, Corsair, and SteelSeries, give free software to help you manage your mouse settings. With this software, you can set an exact DPI value, create different DPI profiles for different tasks or games, and, on supported mice, save your settings directly to the mouse’s onboard memory

• Logitech: Open Logitech G HUB and select your mouse. Go to the DPI or Sensitivity settings. Here, you can choose different DPI levels or enter what suits your style.
• Razer Synapse: Open Razer Synapse and select your mouse.  Go to the Sensitivity tab to choose the DPI you want. For different tasks or games, you can create different DPI levels.
• Corsair iCUE: Open Corsair iCUE and select your mouse. Check the DPI or Performance settings, then choose or change your DPI as you want. You can also create multiple DPI profiles.

How to Change DPI in Windows Mouse Settings:

You can also change your mouse pointer speed in Windows by using the built-in mouse settings. The instructions for both Windows 10 and Windows 11 are discussed below:

Windows 11:

Open Settings, then go to Bluetooth & devices > Mouse. To make the cursor move faster or slower, move the Mouse pointer speed. There is no need to click Restart; the change happens immediately as you move the mouse pointer speed.

Window 10:

Open Settings > Devices > Mouse, then click Additional mouse options.  After clicking the additional mouse options go to the Mouse Properties window and open the pointer option tab.move the Pointer speed slider to choose the speed you want,under motion. When you are satisfied with the setting, click Apply, then ok and save the changes.

Understand Pointer Speed vs. True DPI:

Remember, window pointer speed and DPI are not the same things. Changing the pointer speed only changes how the window moves the cursor, not the actual DPI. It’s good for everyday use, but a better suggestion is to change the mouse DPI using mouse software.
